Boohoo Haul

Wednesday 25 May 2016

Hey Guys!!

A couple of weeks back I thought I would treat myself to a new outfit for the Lukas Graham concert me and Chloe are going to in Birmingham.

I wasn't to sure what to get to be honest as I want to dress casual and comfortable and what is more comfortable than a nice pair of jeans. I of course went to Boohoo to have a look at what they had available in their jeans section and found a lovely pair of blue, high rise jeans. I haven't wore them yet as the concert is tomorrow and will be doing an OOTD post for you and will let you know how comfortable they are in that post.

I then had a look at their tops as I thought a nice, cropped top would go lovely with this and would also be nice and cool during the concert. The material on this top is so thin it definitely will be nice and cool.

Charlotte Spaghetti Strap Crop Top

Of course then I looked at their jackets, I have been wanting a bomber jacket for ages but was trying to find the perfect one. I came across this one and added it straight to my basket. I love the colour of it and especially love the orange on the inside of it. It is quite thick so will be perfect for when summer is over, if we actually have a summer.

Hey Guys!!

To be honest this week has been nice and relaxed after a very busy one. I of course had work as well but it was still relaxed. Me and Llewellyn got some cleaning done in the house and watched a few films. The weather hasn't been great this week so haven't really done a lot from that. If you want to see these pictures or any other pictures between my posts you can follow me on Instagram.

Birthday Cupcakes

Friday 20 May 2016

Hey Guys!!

As you can see from the above picture I turned into a bit of a baking machine last week, baking in total 48 cupcakes!! Yes, 48!! I made 12 of each different flavour which was Chocolate, Vanilla, Red Velvet and Carrot Cake. Luckily I had some helping hands from Llewellyn to get them all done.

First up I made the Chocolate and Vanilla cupcakes.

Vanilla Cupcakes
90ml Vegetable Oil (6 tbsp)
180ml Water
3 Medium Eggs

Chocolate Cupcakes
125ml Vegetable Oil (8 tbsp + 1 tsp)
230ml Water
3 Medium Eggs

Then I made the Red Velvet and Carrot cupcakes.

Red Velvet Cupcakes
105ml Vegetable Oil (7 tbsp)
200ml Water
3 Medium Eggs

Carrot Cupcakes
105ml Vegetable Oil (7 tbsp)
200ml Water
3 Medium Eggs

The oven was pre-heated to Gas Mark 4 and took 30-40 minutes to bake.

Once they had then all cooled down I iced them with Chocolate Icing and then Llewellyn put the buttons on.

These looked so good and everyone enjoyed them at Chloes' party. The kitchen while baking them smelt absolutely amazing!!

Hope you enjoyed this little baking post!!

OOTD #4 & MOTD #2

Wednesday 18 May 2016

Hey Guys!!

On the weekend we celebrated Chloes' 19th Birthday with a family party which I must say was so much fun, especially as I got to see my best friend Eve as well. Of course this meant I had to find something to wear, whether that was something I already owned or bought something new. Can you guess what I did? Yeah, you guessed it, I bought something new.

I was actually quite proud of myself because I usually always go for something black, as you can tell from previous OOTD posts. This time though I went for a beautiful tan coloured playsuit from Charlotte Crosbys' range on In The Style, which you can see HERE. I did also buy some beautiful new shoes, that I am totally in love with and want to just preserve them so they last forever!!

This playsuit was definitely worth the money, I did have to have it taken in a little bit on the sides as I didn't want to be flashing everyone all night, as that would have been embarrassing. It is faux suede and is thin enough that I wasn't to hot at all, was really nice and cool to wear. What was silly of me was that I forgot to take a picture of the back of it. The back is backless so I didn't wear a bra, but as it was a halter neck where I tied it into a bow it draped down nicely. I loved this playsuit so much and can not wait to wear it again.

Do you see what I mean by how beautiful these shoes are? Shoe wise I did want something different as I always wear the same black stiletto style shoes for every occasion. I had been looking for a pair of over knee boots orginally but because the weather has been so nice I thought my legs might get way to warm. Then I seen these on Boohoo and fell in love, you can take a look HERE. They are so comfy to wear and because of the cut outs I wasn't to warm at all. The feel of them is quite velvety and there is a zip on the back to do them up, so you're not fussing with laces especially after having a drink.

My make up, I just went with a neutral look on my eyes using the Glitterball Palette from MUA and then used a L'oreal Paris lipstick in the shade 703 Oud Obsession which tied it all together. As you can also see I did curl my hair for the party, which I loved so much now that my hair is short.

Hope you enjoyed this post!!

Let me know what kind of outfits you like in the comments!!

Hey Guys!!

It was a very busy week, what with Chloes' Birthday party on the weekend so it felt like I was here, there and everywhere. I did manage to pamper myself the one evening with a nice face mask, which I really need to re-order, and a hot bubble bath. Otherwise I had a hair appointment, colouring my hair, baking and trying new make up looks, it was mental!!

New Hair

Friday 13 May 2016

Hey Guys!!

If you follow me on Instagram you will have already seen my new hair cut and colour, but for a while now I had been debating on whether to have my hair cut short again or just have a trim, I have also been debating on what colour I want my hair. I am a very fussy person when it comes to my hair and I'm very indecisive as to what to do.

So on Tuesday we went to my Nans' and I decided to have it cut short. My hairdresser thought I was crazy as it was rather long beforehand.

Before
After
I absolutely love the length now and I'm going to find it so much easier to maintain for days off work and even for days I'm in work.

As I said above I was also wondering what colour I'd like to go as I wanted to go grey/silver but my hairdresser said because of how dark my hair is it would take a lot of work and would possibly ruin my hair. Of course I don't want to ruin my hair so have opted to go lighter especially as the summer shall be arriving soon. I have gone a light brown for now and then gradually hoping to go lighter to the point of being blonde.

I seriously am in love with my hair now, the length is just perfect and I love the colour as it is nice and light, perfect for summer. I think this little hair overhaul was indeed needed as I haven't had my hair done since possibly before my wedding and that was 3 years ago!!

Hope you enjoyed this little hair update!!

The Jungle Book

Wednesday 11 May 2016

Hey Guys!!

You might already know this but I am a huge Disney fan and of course when I heard that they were making a live action version of The Jungle Book, I had to see it.

So last Tuesday me and the other half went to the cinema in Friars Walk to see it. I won't say to much but I am sure you all know the story of Mowgli but it was an absolutely fantastic film.

I loved every minute of it and apart from a few little changes the story was exactly the same and I loved the fact that it was (I am very picky when it comes to re-makes). I do think some parts might be a bit dark or scary for children but I think they would love it also. Definitely a 5/5 from me!!

What did you think of it if you have seen it?

Planet Vikki Recommends: The Ship, Barry

Friday 6 May 2016

Hey Guys!!

I haven't done a Planet Vikki Recommends in such a while so thought I would do one for you today. I must admit I haven't really gone anywhere new for a while either so was nice trying somewhere new.

A few Sundays back me and the husband decided to go for a little walk and to have some food, trying to think of somewhere to go we decided Barry as we haven't been in ages and its somewhere different. Llewellyn knew of a restaurant called The Ship and we decided to eat in there.

It was so cosy in there and was pretty busy as there was a Birthday gathering in there when we went. It's quite spacious when it comes to the way the tables are set up so you're not on top of everyone else eating which is nice. The booth we sat in also had a little tv, which you can see in the picture above, not that there was any volume and that we wanted to watch it.

To be honest it took me ages to decide on what to eat as I can be quite fussy and I wanted to try something different, usually I say that then have the same. I did know what dessert I was going to have though!!

I ended up having a Korma as I absolutely love it and haven't had a curry in ages. It was beautiful, I didn't eat it all as it came with chips, onion bahjis, naan bread, poppadoms, mint dip and mango chutney. What was really good was that the curry had actually a decent amount of chicken in as a few places I have been to haven't really had a lot of chicken in them.

I then had for a dessert a Salted Caramel Chocolate cake, now I am obsessed with salted caramel and if it's on the menu I will eat it. To be honest though I wasn't to impressed, for me I didn't think the caramel had a strong enough taste compared to the chocolate. I know you have to have the right balance as you don't want the caramel to overwhelm the rest of the dessert, I just like a strong caramel.

After our food then we took a lovely little stroll along the beach and watched the gorgeous sunset. We can be a romantic couple sometimes!

I hope you enjoyed this post.
Let me know in the comments if there are any restaurants you love that I could try!!

Hey Guys!!

I am back from my little break and I am glad to be getting the creative juices flowing so to speak. I wasn't having the greatest of times just before I took the break but have now turned that around and I'm happier than ever. I have done quite a bit the past few weeks, like going for walks, going bowling and the cinema. I have also started a Bullet Journal and must say I have never been more organised in my life! I may do a post on it in the future, if that is something you would like to see. Anyway I am back and keep your eyes peeled for some lovely posts coming your way this month.

Top L-R A beautiful sunset at Barry Island, Our little walk down Barry Island, Finally washed my make-up brushes

Bottom L-R My favourite place to be is looking out at the water in the Wetlands, Had a lovely little picnic then took a walk to the little lighthouse, Found my Disney ears and favourite sunglasses.
