Chocolate Fudge Brownies

Wednesday 29 April 2015

Hey Guys!!

Another baking post for you, it wasn't until I was sat writing my posts that I realised I have done a lot of baking this month!! So I do apologise for the cake filled posts lately. I will also say I have not been 'sponsored' to do these posts it just so happened I had a few Betty Crocker mixes in my cupboard to make!!

This time though instead of making cupcakes I decided to make brownies as I haven't had brownies in what seems like forever.

All you need is:
Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix
40ml Vegetable Oil (2tbsp)
75ml Water (5tbsp)
1 medium Free Range Egg

So like I usually do I put all the ingredients into my mixing bowl and mixed it together for roughly 2-3 minutes.

Until it looked like this.

What I didn't picture is that I used an oil spray to grease the tray and then tipped the mixture in. I used a wooden spoon to spread it out evenly, then I baked it in the oven at 160 degrees for 25 minutes.

The mistake I made was I forgot to let it cool before taking it out the tray so it kind of came out in pieces rather than even pieces.

It was so delicious though, especially with a cup of tea. I will definitely make these again and maybe try them with pink custard!!

You can get the recipe here or again from your local supermarket!!

Also you can see me make these in this Vlog!!

Chick Devil's Food Cupcakes

Friday 24 April 2015

Hey Guys!!

Again I had the baking bug and decided to make some cupcakes. These cupcakes I hadn't made before either and also it was the first time I have properly decorated cupcakes as you'll see.

All you need is:
Devil's Food Cupcakes Mix
30ml Vegetable Oil (2 tbsp)
60ml Water (4 tbsp)
2 medium Free Range Eggs

I put all the ingredients into my mixer and mixed it altogether for about 2-3 minutes on number 2.

Until it was a lovely and smooth mixture.

I then spooned them into the their cases and baked them in the centre of the oven at 160 degrees for 16 minutes.

To decorate them I used ready to roll yellow icing, caramel and chocolate writing pens and the icing provided.

Once they had cooled overnight I then mixed together the powder, 60g of soft butter and 10ml (2 tsp) of water. I must say the icing smelt gorgeous!!

I iced all the cakes with the chocolate icing, then rolled out the yellow icing, cut out 9 circles and 18 tear drop shapes. Then as you can see used the chocolate writing pen for the eyes and the caramel on for its beak and feet.

I did actually make these for Easter and they were delicious. I thought they came out really well as I've never really decorated cupcakes like this before.

You can get the recipe here or from any local supermarket as it is on the box of mix.

You can also see me making and icing them in this Vlog and this Vlog!!

Lemon Cupcakes

Wednesday 22 April 2015

Hey Guys!!

Lately I have been loving baking so much and have been baking something new every week. I have been cheating though as I have been using a mix, rather than baking from scratch. Between work, blogging and Youtube I haven't had time to bake from scratch, but it's calming down so will have plenty of time.

This time I decided to make some Lemon Cupcakes as I had not used this mix before and I've not tried Lemon Cupcakes either.

All you need is:
Sunny Lemon Cupcakes Mix
30ml of Vegetable Oil (2 tbsp)
60ml of Water (4 tbsp)
2 medium Free Range Eggs

I put all the ingredients into my mixer and mixed it on number 2 for 2-3 minutes.

Until it looked like this.

I then spooned the mixture into 9 cupcake cases and baked them for 16 minutes at 160 degrees as I have a fan assisted oven. As you can see from above there they are before and after.

Once they had cooled down I then mixed together the Icing mixture with 60g of soft butter, I use Stork butter, and 10ml (2 tsp) of water to make the icing.

I then iced all the cakes with a butter knife and sprinkled them with rainbow sprinkles to add some colour rather than the sprinkles provided.

I must say these cakes were delicious and you could definitely taste the Lemon in them. It wasn't to Lemon-y which was nice as I think it would be to 'sour' otherwise, they were also very soft and chewy which I like in a cupcake.

You can find this recipe here or you can go into any local supermarket to have a try yourself.

You can also see me making these in this Vlog and icing them in this Vlog!!

Hey Guys!!

This week has been mostly positive but did have a little negative midweek. The weather has still been gorgeous and has also been a really good reading week.

Negative - The only negative this week has been that my anxiety has been a bugger. Llewellyn was away overnight Wednesday and it was a terrible night. I couldn't sleep, I cried and just wished he was home.

Reading - As I said above reading has been really good this week. I finished Wuthering Heights yesterday and has now started a new book which is Robinson Crusoe. I actually have a goal of 10 books this year so am on track but do want to read more if I can. You can see the post HERE.

Loving - I actually love the fact I have caught up on all my washing, #adultlife ha ha. I am also loving the time me and Llewellyn are getting to spend together whether it be watching films, goofing around or just cuddling on the sofa.

Hope you enjoyed this weeks edition!!

Phoenix Rising

Friday 17 April 2015

Hey Guys!!

I'm now fully into my ritual of having showers through the week and reserving a Sunday as my relaxation night. So that can only mean one thing I used one of my Lush bath bombs!!

I have been wanting to get this one for a long time and was so happy when I ordered it. I love the smell of cinnamon so I was sold as soon as I seen that, that was the scent.

I love the look of this bath bomb as it is so pretty and glittery, it actually didn't smell as strong as I thought it would though. It also took a long time for it to fizz away but the colour it left was gorgeous.

It left a dark purple colour behind but I still don't think the scent is that strong. I would still get it again though as it is very pretty and my skin felt amazing afterwards.

If you'd like to try this Phoenix Rising bath bomb you can find it here.

Hope you enjoyed this little post :)

H&M Haul

Wednesday 15 April 2015

Hey Guys!!

I love shopping, some may say I actually have an addiction to shopping. I can possibly agree as I always find nice things to wear or use whenever I am out. This particular time we popped into H&M, now I've never shopped in H&M before and now I love it. They have so many different things and are really decently priced.

The first thing I picked up was this beautiful, mint coloured dress. I am obsessed with mint so I had to get it, well I didn't have to, but I thought it would be perfect for a Wedding I am going to in May. I would say the material is a mixture between cotton and that 'scuba' material. It's a lovely length as when I get dresses they are either to long or to short, but this is perfect. I got this in a size 10.

The second thing I picked up then was this Pink Floyd vest top. Now I do actually like their music as my Dad loves them and I have grown up listening to them. I love tops with album artwork/celebrities on, I go more for bands/album artwork though. Its a very light material so will be perfect for summer and spring.

I then also picked up these Flower crowns as I am always looking for ways to spruce up my hair instead of just leaving it plain.

Hope you enjoyed this quick little haul :)

Hey Guys!!

This week has actually been quite a relaxed week to be honest, though I did have the Dentist this week which sent my anxiety through the roof :(

Loving - I have been loving the weather this week as it has been so sunny, it meant I could sit on the decking and have an amazing cooked breakfast. It also meant we went on a lovely walk along the Seawall and just relaxed.

Relationship - We have actually started doing more Date nights lately and have really been enjoying spending more time together doing things, rather than sitting in front of the tv. This week we went to the cinema to see Fast & Furious 7 and we also counted the walk at the Seawall.

Relaxing - Like I said above it has been quite a relaxed week so why not finish it off with some candles, a hot bubble bath and a good book. I have actually been taking slightly more time to myself whether it be reading or a bath or whatever else I feel like doing to relax. I've needed to this week as my anxiety has been through the roof since having to go to the Dentist.

Hope you enjoyed this weeks InstaLately!!

Top 5 Disney Princess Movies

Friday 10 April 2015

Hey Guys!!

Today I thought I would share with you an absolute love/obsession of mine as I have been watching a lot of them lately......

and they are Disney Princess Movies!!

Yes, yes I know I am a child at heart but I just love them so much and who doesn't love Disney, to be honest! Come on be honest you know you do!!! Anyway I thought I would share my Top 5 that I can literally watch over and over again and never get tired of.

Source

Of course number 1 is The Little Mermaid, if you follow me on Snapchat I actually snapped little snippets of it, if not my username is planetvikki. I just love the whole idea of swimming under the water with all the fish, if I wasn't terrified, and the singing, god I love the singing!! My favourite song out of this whole film is Part of Your World, I literally know it word for word!!

Source

Next is Tangled, this film is so funny, I cry with laughter throughout the whole thing. I love Flynn and how he just expects Rapunzel to be in love with him. It's such a lovely story though and I love watching it develop. Of course I have a favourite song and that is I See The Light, who doesn't love that song, it's such a feel good song.

Source

Now if my family are reading this, Hey Family!! they will be surprised that I have put this 3rd. Now Pocahontas was literally my all time favourite when I was little, I was obsessed. I had everything from dolls, bed sets, curtains and even my room was decorated with Pocahontas. The biggest thing though was that I wanted to be her, literally wanted to change my name and live in the woods. I just love it right from the beginning to the very end, there's actually no words to describe how much I love this film!!

Source

The thing I love about this film is the moral of the story, to never judge a book by its cover!! You know what I have always stood by that and never judge someone until I get to know that person. Of course my favourite part is when they dance in the ballroom, I love her dress and the ceiling in that room, to die for!!

Source

Lastly it has to be Snow White. I love how sweet and innocent this film is to be honest, though it did make me think that if you whistled forest animals would come and clean your room, I was 5 people!! I also love it because it is a complete classic and I don't think you can truly say you're a Disney fan unless you've seen at least most of the classics.

What are your favourites?

Well I hope you enjoyed this little post!!

Studio Haul

Wednesday 8 April 2015

Hey Guys!!

Spring is here and I wanted to update my wardrobe a little bit to transition into this season. I can be quite fussy with my clothes so I feel like I have actually got some stuff that are a little different for me.

First off I bought this onesie, I am slightly obsessed with these, I just love lounging around in them if I got no where to go. As you can see it is a thin cotton material with pink dots and then has a Me To You bear on the right side. I got a Small in this and its actually quite long, I'm not the tallest of people.

Jacket
Jumpsuit

I then added this jumpsuit and leather jacket to my basket. I've been in need of a new leather jacket for a while as my one is quite old now and this was perfect. The faux fur around the collar you can take off, which I will probably just leave it on to be honest, maybe in the summer I will though. This jumpsuit is a little different for me as I normally go for plain colours and it is more 'skin tight' than I normally go for. I've paired it with heels to show you that it can be dressed up and when you see in the next pictures it can also be dressed casual.

Jacket
Jumpsuit
Shoes

Shoes

As you can see this is a plain version of the above jumpsuit and again you can pair it with a leather jacket or possibly a denim jacket. This time though I paired it with canvas type shoes to make it more casual and for an everyday look.

Shoes

I actually got 2 of these tops as I think they are perfect for just casually wearing and they are thin enough to wear in Spring and into Summer. It is very lightweight so I won't get to hot in them at all. I also bought a pair of 'Timberland' style boots as I have been looking for a decent pair for a while and finally found these. They are so comfortable and I do actually wear them a lot now.

Cardigan
Shoes

Shoes

I then also got this gorgeous draped cardigan as I have a lot of winter cardigans but none that I can transition into Spring/Summer. The only thing I was worried about was that it was going to make me look quite short because of the length but it's perfect :)

I do have one more item coming but for now that's all the items I ordered :)

I hope you enjoyed this little haul :)

Review: Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder

Friday 3 April 2015

Hey Guys!!

A while a go I went on a little shopping trip, as you do when you have nothing else to do. I wanted to get this highlighter before but they seemed to never have it in store but this time they did.

I have already got the Pink Shimmer Highlighter and absolutely love it so thought why not try the Iridescent Gold. Plus I have seen a few posts on this one so have really wanted to try it out myself.

I love the size of the packaging on these highlighters as there is a lot of product and you don't use a lot of it at all, so it's definitely going to last me a long time. Saying that as I said before I already have the Pink Shimmer and I bought that nearly 2 years ago and have hardly used it all. The price of it is also amazing at £3, so for how long it lasts its definitely worth it.

As you can see in the picture above the pigmentation of this is amazing so you really don't need to use a lot of it at all. I just use it on my cheek bones and sometimes put a little bit down the middle of my nose.

Overall I think this is an amazing product and if you would like to try it out you can get it HERE or you can go to any Superdrug store.

Hope you enjoyed this little review!!
