Asda Haul xo

Hey Guys!!

 

I went shopping the other week with my Mum and Nan over Spytty and thought while we are here and I got a bit of money left over, I will pick up some bits for my dressing table area and treat Llewellyn :) So we popped into The Factory Shop (I think that's what its called I've blanked on the name) and Asda.

 

 

I have been working on my dressing table area since we moved into our new home as I really wanted a pretty, vintage looking area. There's not so much a theme to it but I love the clean white look and I am obsessed with wicker at the moment. I already had one set of 3 wicker hearts as Mum had got us a set for our Anniversary and hung it from the bracket above my table. So I picked up another one to go on the opposite side so it matches, they were £3 in The Factory Shop. I picked up the notice board in Asda for £5 and I love it. It fits in so well with how I want my dressing area to look and I thought on the chalkboard bit I could write motivational quotes on there or little messages :)

 

 

I don't know if anyone who reads this has an Asda near them or anything but I am obsessed with their 2 for £6 on underwear. I thought I would treat myself to some novelty underwear, I love all the different sorts underwear they have in there. These are really cute ones as well, they're all the characters I love :) I also treated Llewellyn to a gorgeous Marvel T-shirt, its got like a Comic Strip on it, I think I may be stealing it now and again ha ha

Avon Haul xo

Hey Guys!!

 

Once again I have been ordering from Avon!! I must learn to control myself, I think I might be turning into a shopping addict!! Anywho, I wanted to pick up some things for my holiday, you have probably seen some of these products in a previous post. As you can see in the title picture there is varied items, though mostly make up related. Lets begin........

 

 

As you can see I've got a mixture of make up products this time and I will be doing reviews on all of them when I use them. I'm also trying out some new things to which I am very proud of myself for :)

I also got some styling mousse for my hair as I curl my hair quite a bit whether it be tongs or my barrel brush, so thought this would be better than spraying my hair with loads of hair spray. It is supposed to be 24 hour hold so once I have got my hair cut I can try this out properly.

 

 

A complete essential as we have had really hot weather and also I am in a very sunny destination right now!! I've noticed lately that my face burns quite a bit and my skin has started to blister a bit to so got this sun cream specifically for my face. Hopefully its going to prevent my face burning really badly.

Confessions of a Blogger xo

Hey Guys!!

 

I know I have done quite a few Q&A type posts these past few days, I do apologise, I just want to keep my holiday posts for when I get back as I didn't want to post while I'm away. This will probably be a bit of a rambly one, so give yourself a high five if you got to the end :)

 

When did you start your blog?

I started my blog back in September last year, it'll be my 1 year Blogiversary in 2 weeks.

Have you had any past online presence before (Other blog, YouTube)?

I actually used to Vlog and have a Weekly Channel but it got to a point where I wasn't enjoying doing that anymore and I didn't want that to come across in the videos, so decided to put all my focus on my blog :)

 

Why did you start a blog?

I started blogging because I wanted somewhere to get my ideas and thoughts down. It was also down to the fact I love writing and why not write about the things I love for everyone to see and read :)

 

When did you become serious about starting a blog?

I've started getting a bit more serious about it the past few months, not in the sense I want to be making money off it, but more because I enjoy writing about the things I enjoy :)

 

What was your first post?

My first post was an Introduction post so I just answered a few questions, so that you knew a little bit about me :)

 

 

What has been your biggest challenge about blogging?

For me I think it was finding my niche as at first I was just going to write about fashion and lifestyle but I find I write about a lot more things, like recipes I've tried, fashion, beauty, books, etc. Also at first it was a challenge for me to let people I knew read it as I don't always take criticism very well so until I felt I could deal with it I didn't let them read it. Now I have a Facebook page dedicated to my blog so that family and friends can also read it. You can go give it a Like if you are on Facebook HERE

 

Where do you see your blog in one year?

To be honest I rather be in the now rather than see where it is in a year, as it can go either way. I'd like to think that in a year people are still reading it and enjoying it :)

 

What is the most rewarding thing to you about blogging?

For me it has to be knowing people are reading my posts, even its just 5 people I know I have created something that someone enjoys enough to take 5 minutes out of their day to read.  

 

What is the most discouraging thing that happens to you?

At the beginning I had an awful habit of comparing my blog to the bigger, popular blogs and I would get discouraged. Now I have turned it around and look at it that I enjoy what I do and people will only read things that interest them, I think sometimes when you are creating a blog you also have to look at it from a readers point of view to.

 

What's your lasting inspiration or motivation?

I would definitely say other bloggers inspire me, like Zoella, Sprinkle of Glitter, and a lot more. I never copy posts I will just maybe write a few notes down or ideas and put my own twist on it so that it is an individual and unique post to my blog :)

Would You Rather Tag xo

1. Would you rather wear one eye shadow or one lipstick for the rest of your life?

Lipstick as I wear a lot of eye shadow, where as I don't wear lipstick very often. 

 

 

2. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

I'd prefer dark nails as I tend to wear dark shades more than bright shades.

 

3. Would you rather go out with messy hair/nice make-up or nice hair/no make-up?

I think I would have to say nice hair/no make up. I rarely wear make up anyway and I always love it when my hair is nice and actually does what I want it to do.

 

 

4. Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

Nail polish definitely!!

 

 

5. Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?

Over done blush as I hate having a foundation line, its a pet peeve of mine!!

 

 

6. Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair color?

That's a difficult one, I suppose you can change a bad hair cut easier than a bad hair colour.

 

 

7. Would you rather have Youtube or Twitter taken away forever?

I would say Twitter as I am always going on Youtube looking for tutorials and funny videos.

 

 

8. Would you rather give up using makeup brushes or mascara?

Mascara. I love my make up brushes and my eye lashes a quite full naturally so could get away with it :)

 

 

9. Would you rather never being able to paint yours nails again or never use lip gloss?

Never use lip gloss. I don't wear it anyway so I would be fine never using it.

 

 

10. If you had £1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

I would buy clothes 100%, I am addicted to buying clothes, though I would say I have way to many.

Yes I do :)

All the time, I will read other posts and be like, yeah I want to try that and that and that!!

 

29. How did you come up with your blog name?

At first it was called Fashion and Life, but after a while it didn't fit the nature of my blog anymore, as I write about a lot of different things, so came up with 'Planet Vikki' :)

 

30. What kind of camera do you use for photographs?

I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS50. I also use my husbands which is a Nikon D3200.

 

31. How often do you clean your house? (Daily, weekly, other)

I will do a major clean once a week but potter round daily. 

 

32. What is your favourite colour?

Mint Green at the moment.

 

3. What is your favorite beauty/fashion magazine?

I don't read many magazines to be honest.

 

34. Do you swear?

Like a trooper sometimes.

 

35. What are you doing with the rest of your day?

As this is a scheduled post because I'm on holiday, I'm probably sat on a beach or by the pool :)

I seen this tag over on Google and I know I'm not just a Beauty Blogger but I thought I would do a tag for you :) This is a long tag so have split it in two, so this is Part 1 :)

 

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?

Its naturally rather wavy :)

 

2. What is your natural hair colour?

Surprisingly my hair is naturally Blonde :O

 

3. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?

I actually haven't dyed my hair for nearly 2 years now and its so much healthier :)

 

4. How often do you wash your hair?

I'd say about 3 times a week, maybe 4, my hair gets really greasy really quickly :/

 

5. Do you wear the same style every day or change it?

I'd like to think I change it up every now and again.

 

6. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?

I either do it myself or my sister does it :)

 

7. How often to you change your nail polish?

When I paint them I just change it when they chip. 

 

8. Do you polish your toes in the winter, too or just in the summer?

I very rarely paint my toes to be honest.

 

9. How long does it take to put on your makeup?

I'd say half an hour, my husband tells me longer.

 

10. What do you do first? Face or eyes?

I always do my face first.

 

11. Do you "collect" makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?

I just buy when I need it, but now and again I will just pick up bits.

 

12. How often do you wear false eyelashes?

I have actually never worn false eyelashes.

 

13. Do you do a full face of makeup every day?

I actually hardly ever wear makeup but will do a full face when I'm going out or its an occasion.

 

14. Do you wear makeup when you are home alone (or with family)?

Not really, only at occasions really.

 

15. Will you leave the house without makeup?

Yes, I always leave the house with no makeup on.

 

16. How many high end products do you have?

I actually own only drugstore make up, no high end products yet.

 

17. How often do you wash your makeup brushes?

Rarely, but I need to.

 

18. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you are getting dressed?

Typically I just get up and throw things on, but if I'm going somewhere nice I will plan.

Corfu Bound xo

Today is the day, me and Llewellyn are off to the airport to jet off to Corfu :)

Corfu is in 2 days and I thought I would give you a sneak peek at the outfits I am going to be wearing in the evenings. Yes I know, I'm not actually wearing them but I will be doing proper Outfit Posts when I get back :)

 

These are all from various shops, mostly H&M, Studio and Boohoo. There are 4 dresses, 1 I already had and 3 new, 1 jumpsuit, shorts and crop top and a skirt and crop top. I really can't wait to share them with you properly.

H&M Haul xo

 

Hey Guys!!

 

I was talking to Llewellyn the other week and I said I could do with some new shorts that fitted me a lot better than the ones I have, I want to be comfortable when I'm away. So Llewellyn being the lovely husband he is, let me choose some shorts and he ordered them for me.

 

I wanted something different as I normally always have denim shorts and didn't want really short ones. I came across these on H&M, I'm always shopping on there, they are smart, high waisted and so comfortable.

 

I think my favourite pair is the sun flower pair, they're definitely something I wouldn't normally go for but they are so cute :) Also the white, floral pair are so pretty, I can't wait to wear them all :)

 

 

They are all a size 10 so that they are a lot more comfortable, I normally wear a size 8. They look so smart on so can't wait to share with you my OOTD posts when I get back from my holiday :)

Travel Toiletries xo

 

Hey Guys!!

 

When going away for me my toiletries are the most important thing, I like to make sure I have everything that is essential and I won't take anything I don't need. I have a lot of toiletries so I tend to take things I am currently using or I will use things I don't usually use so my shower bag is always ready :)

 

I decided to take my Palmolive shower gel with Coconut as I've used that before and it smells so nice and refreshing :) I'm taking Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner as that is better for my hair at the moment, I get mine from Tesco. I'm taking a moisturiser this time to hopefully stop myself from peeling and also to keep my skin hydrated. The one I am taking is from Avon and is a Firming Moisturiser :) I've also got my trusty exfoliating glove and my face cloth :) Then of course my toothpaste, got to keep these teeth white :)

 

 

I know these are not quite toiletries but I pack them altogether :) I'm taking my Lacoste Touch of Pink and Far Away Gold for the evenings and might spritz some on in the day if we are going on an excursion or something. Then of course my trusty deodorants :) Dove 48 hour care and Impulse :)

 

 

Luckily all this then fits into this gorgeous, material toiletry bag I had for Christmas off Llewellyns' Mum and Dad. I was actually surprised it all fitted in there haha

Travel Make Up xo

 

Hey Guys!!

 

Its not long now and I will be jetting off to sun kissed island, tanning it up on a beautiful beach :) But when the sun goes down and the evening kicks in we will probably be eating food out and about :) Of course that meant I needed to go through my make up collection and decide what I was going to take.

 

I decided not to take to much as it will be hot and I don't want to use to much make up and end up sweating it off!! So here is what I am taking :)

 

 

I decided instead of using my usual foundation, I've opted for BB Cream. The one I got is Solutions BB Cream with SPF15 from Avon Cosmetics, I got it in Shade Light as I don't have a dark complexion so it will be perfect :) I will use this if we go on day trips and also in the evenings :) I'm also taking my highlighting powder and bronzing powder which will be more for the evenings :) Both are from MUA in Superdrug.

 

 

For my eyes I am taking my usual Long Lasting Mascara in Black and ColorTrend Eyeliner in Black, both from Avon Cosmetics. I'm also taking my usual pencil eyeshadow in a Golden Brown also from Avon Cosmetics. The only new products I am taking is another eyeshadow pencil in Pink Diamond and an eyeshadow primer in Natural Beige :)

 

 

I'm getting out of my comfort zone here by taking lipsticks with me, I don't usually use them but there's nothing wrong with stepping out of your comfort zone a little. The one on the right is a Tinted Lip Care in Pink, I love the fact it comes in a gorgeous white tube :) The other one is a Matte Lipstick and is very natural looking as its more or less the same colour as my lips :) Both are from Avon Cosmetics.

 

 

Of course I can't not take my favourite summer shades, these are in Naked Truth, Sea Breeze and Suddenly Sunny. The Suddenly Sunny (yellow) I use on my toes and then I will swap and change between Naked Truth and Sea Breeze on my fingers.

 

 

Then the non-make up items I am taking are my All Over Face Brush, Angled Blush Brush and Foundation Brush all from Avon as you can see, I have to get a new Foundation Brush so the one pictured is probably not the one I will definitely be taking. Then I have my make up setting spray to keep all my make up in place, my Simple Facial Wipes to take said make up off at the end of the night and my gorgeous Audrey Hepburn compact mirror :)

 

Then as you can see in the title photo I will be taking it all in a pink plastic cosmetic bag :)

Kellys' Birthday Part 2 xo

Hey Guys!!

 

So here we are at Part 2 :) The week after Kellys' actual Birthday (26th July) we both went on a night out in some of our local night clubs. It was a really good night, I don't condone any drinking unless your old enough, there was lots of drinks flowing and definitely lots of dancing. I literally have felt like I have done 6 hours in the gym!!

 

I got ready at Kellys' and then we went to our local Breeze, tends to be our start off point, where Kelly had reserved a table and we had 2 bottles of champagne and some shots. Then we moved onto another club called Lloyds where there was a lot of dancing we literally didn't stop ha ha Then went to another local called Rift & Co, previously Revolution. I have never had such a good night like that for ages but I will leave you now with some pictures!!

 

 Its ok this was before we went out, we didn't take Bethan, she just wanted to pose :)
